Why is it worth using the "Posting First Comment" strategy?

  1. Keyword Engagement: It allows users to include additional keywords, hashtags, or @mentions. Typically, social media platforms use algorithms that prioritise content with specific renowned keywords or hashtags. This feature can help your posts to appear in more users' feeds, thus increasing your overall reach.

  2. Captivating Conversations: Being the first to comment on your own post can spark a conversation. When other users observe a comment, they are more likely to engage in a dialogue. Prompting user interaction can increase engagement rates and give your content a personal touch.

  3. Clutter-Free Caption: Overloading your original post's caption with hashtags can make content appear cluttered and off-putting to some users. Posting the first comment allows a more organised and presentable way to include additional information and hashtags without undermining the aesthetics and readability of your post.

  4. Improved Visibility on LinkedIn: LinkedIn's algorithm tends to downplay posts that aim to drive users away from their platform, such as posts containing external links. By taking advantage of our "Posting First Comment" feature, you can put your external link in the first comment instead of the main post. This helps maintain the visibility and reach of your post while allowing you to share the necessary external references or links. Be tactful and ensure your content is engaging to incentivise users to check out the first comment.

Cautionary Usage of the "Posting First Comment" Functionality

While the "Posting First Comment" feature offers substantial benefits, overusing or misusing this functionality can lead to unforeseen consequences that could negatively impact your social media presence.

  1. Avoid Spamming: Do not use this feature to spam your audience with too many hashtags, links or irrelevant comments. This could deter your audience and might lead them to perceive your posts as spam, or worse, prompt them to unfollow your accounts.

  2. Relevance is Key: Ensure your first comment is relevant to your post. Misleading or off-topic comments can confuse your audience and damage your brand's reputation.

  3. Avoid Overuse: Continuously posting the first comment on your posts may be ignored by your audience over time due to its repetitive nature. Consider using this functionality wisely and sporadically.

Remember, authenticity and meaningful engagement always triumphs in social media interactions. Handle this feature with care, ensuring it enhances rather than hinders your social media presence.
